Full of cheers and excitement, Britney Martinez, the 19 year old native to Los Angeles, California showed up at the Rose Bowl venue of the Season 9 American Idol reality show to compete against 11,000 other hopefuls.

Britney sang one of Dixie Jones’ songs before the panel of favorably impressed judges and successfully passed the first phase to be invited to come back for the following phases. Needless to say she was ecstatic, especially in light of the fact that this was her first audition for this prestigious talent search competition. With this initial victory in hand, Britney Martinez plans to work harder than ever because the route to becoming the next American Idol has sudden been shortened for her and her dream for stardom has now taken on a hint of reality.
