Having made it all the way to Hollywood in Season 8 of the American Idol, the then twenty three year old Jacob (or Jakob) McKay of New York, NY has had the coveted American Idol title within his arm’s reach when it was sadly snatched from under his nose by someone else.

A lesser man might have been discourage and disheartened but not Jacob. He quickly picked himself up, swiped away the dust and the tears and set out to try yet once again.

So, amidst a colossal crowd of an estimated 10,000 hopeful Season 9 American Idol contestants, Jacob McKay showed up at the gates of Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX which is right outside of Dallas.

And Jacob indeed has got what it takes to be a star and an American Idol — he has the talent, he has the voice, he has the musicality, and he has the boyish goods. It’s not just our opinion here at American Buzz because all of America has had the opportunity to witness it during last season’s American Idol.

Although he is only 24 now, Jacob McKay has acquired tons of experience because he has been playing and singing with a band for the past five or six years and he has been singing the better part of his life or at least since he has learned how to put two words together in a coherent sentence and he has even had formal singing lessons. Although he enjoys a variety of music genres, his preference for performing is piano rock and acoustics. To his credit as a musical performer, Jacob has cut a record in Los Angeles but it has not yet been released and he has even written several rather impressive pieces of music.

We at American Buzz are aware of the fact that we do not have a whole lot of information about this young male vocalist who, we believe, has star quality.
