Stevie Wright American Idol
Stevie Wright from California made it through the first rounds on last nights debut of American Idol (season 8). Stevie got her name from the female rocker in Fleetwood Mac – Stevie Nicks.
Stevie sang Etta James “At Last” and sounded good.
She has a deep husky voice that should be able to pusher her past the Hollywood rounds. However for now we will have to wait and see. New idol judge judge Kara DioGuardi whispered to Paula, “she’s my girl so far”. Simon warned Stevie that she would need to grow some fangs in order to reach the top twelve.

Hey thanks very much for linking to my post here! I appreciate that. Obviously being an ultimate Stevie Nicks fan, I am rooting for young Stevie Wright. She does have a beautiful, natural singing voice that I can imagine pulling off several different musical genres. Let’s hope she has the fire in her belly to get her through it!
Very nice, comprehensive blog you have here, by the way.
I’m very impressed with Stevie Wright. Judging by her performance in the audtions, I think she’s poised for the top ten!
Stevie Wright is my friend. We go to the same school and she is always singing in my Physics class. I stayed all night to see her sing and she sounded amazing. I never heard her sing like that. She is my favorite to win especially since she is my friend.
Lil Stevie has grown up. The last time I saw her she was a sweet cute little girl who always had a smile for everyone around her. My god kids grow up fast – she’s a young lady with tremendous talent now! My three sons were always at her cousins house raising hell and she was often there amidst the chaos laughing and smiling through it all like a trooper. And now I find that she really is a trooper!! Go figger wilya! Knock their socks off Stevie!! The Haynie boyz are pullin for ya! Ken, Andy, Pete, and Bill.
Thanks Haynie Boyz- what a nice thing to say!! we apprechate that
Stevie is going all the way!!!!!! excelent voice excelent personality
iam a big fan already!!!!!
Stevie has what seems to be an infinate amount of charisma and charm. The girl glows. Her voice is awesome, but she has something extra that puts her ahead of the pack. I remember her first audition, she just stood out from everyone else that night.I hope she wins!
No matter what happens on American Idol, Stevie is a singer with talent to spare and should pursue every avenue to exploit her voice. It is, after all, only television where most talented people are not “discovered” until after they’ve paid some tremendous dues – although the Idol exposure will do much for her in the future. Just remember there are singers and musicians out there who made it without television and command huge audiences and very large paychecks to boot – and that for doing something they love to do. I can attest to the fact that playing to any audience, no matter the size, is one of the most fulfilling accomplishments for any musician – even if you can’t hear yourself halfway through the first song. Stick with it Stevie! Come sing with my band sometime! But bring your earplugs! Good luck and stay focused on your talent cuz you got it bigtime kiddo!! Pete, Andy, Ken, and Bill Haynie.
