Ok gang, it was bound to happen. Mistaken identity that is and I am afraid that Stephanie Britt ended up with the short end of the stick.

Former model says it’s likely a case of mistaken identity…
In a crazy case of mistaken identity that can be attributed to the obsession of Fox’s "American Idol," Huntsville-area model Stephanie Britt says she’s not the girl Internet Web sites are saying could be among the top 50 contestants for the upcoming season.
Britt, 30, told The Times Monday night by phone she was notified by a friend Monday her name had been mentioned in published reports as being on "American Idol." A quick search of the Internet also discovered her name and pictures on "Idol" spoiler Web sites like Joes Place, Vote for the Worst and mj’s big blog. She was also contacted by a Times reporter via her MySpace page.
"First of all, I don’t live in Huntsville," said Britt, who requested her real city not be named. "I put that on my MySpace page because I didn’t want people to know where I live.
"I got a call from a friend today who said, ‘Can you sing?’ and I said, ‘Ah, no, I can’t sing.’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ Then, he sent me this article. It’s not me.
"It’s crazy. If I could sing, I wouldn’t still be around here. Never in my life have a sung anything. I thought it was a joke."
Britt says she attended a private school growing up and is a mother of one son who does more with marketing, promotions and photography than she does with modeling now. She doesn’t travel as much because she’s committed to taking care of her grandmother and son.
Britt is also angry because of the comments and slurs people have made about her and her photos. Her Web site, stephaniebritt.com, has some provocative photos and links to more photos and a chat room, but she says it was for her modeling career and she doesn’t even use it anymore.

A story from a Birmingham newspaper is posted on al.com and this is her reply online: "1st of all, I am Stephanie Britt. My basic Web site is not active anymore for those of you that can not read yet. I am not the singer or associated with this Idol thing. I am the model and I can not sing! Just wanted to clear this up, and btw, I am not a Ho Mr. Creekwater (in reference to a comment he made).
Could there be another Stephanie Britt from Huntsville in "Idol"? "I don’t think there’s another one from here," Britt said. "Besides, if she had a picture people would know we wouldn’t look anything alike."
