Mature without being old or overly wizened and self assured without radiating conceit or an attitude of smugness, Tasha Layton is an attractive 26 year old, long haired brunette who has passed the initial audition portion of the Season 9 American Idol in sunny Los Angeles, CA where she now resides after having uprooted herself from her town of origin in South Carolina.
This was Tasha’s first audition for the American Idol talent hunting reality show but she aced it beautifully when she soulfully sang “Baby, Baby, Bay” by Josh Stone and “The Scientist” by Coldplay.
Being the woman of the 21st century and keeping up with the latest and greatest communication trends, you can find Tasha Layton at MySpace.com and at Twitter.com. Likewise, you can see Tasha being interviewed after her successful audition as she smiles from under a fedora that shields her eyes from the bright Southern California sun and answers the few questions that were presented by her interviewer.

If you know her in person or you have heard something or anything through the grapevine, please do share it with us at American Buzz and with all our visitors by entering it as a comment. Won’t you help by sending us comments with as much details about Tasha Layton as you can find? We thank you as does all of America!
Tasha is one of my dearest friends on the planet! We met a decade ago in college, and it didn’t take long to know that not only was she talented, but she also was destined to make it far in life, impacting the masses. Her success thus far in Idol comes as no surprise…the only surprise I guess is that she waited till season 9 to try out. LOL
I’m so proud of her, and know that she has the character and maturity to handle the stage with strength, beauty, and grace…and humour. She is hilarious!
Tasha was blessed with a lovely voice and a fantastic sense of humor. I knew she would be onstage someday but what I didn’t know was whether or not she would be a comedienne or rock star. We met through some mutual friends during my college years. Later Tasha attended my Alma Mater. She is amazingly talented, very humble and one of the most sincere people I know. I along with the entire Converse College Alumnae community will be watching and cheering her on. Do us proud T!
Tasha worked with me for a few years. I heard her sing on several occasions. I tried to encourage her; I knew she would do something big and I had hoped she would take her music seriously. No surprise she sang a Joss Stone song, she has an earthy penetrating sound. Her musical instincts are fantastic. Congratz Tasha, you deserve it.
Tasha used to babysit our boys when she lived in SC. They always loved it when Tasha was coming! Such a fun person! She is one of the most humble, sincere girls I have ever known. The Wolfe family wishes her all the best!
I’ve known Tasha since junior high. Even then it seemed as though she was destined for stardom …or prison. Either would probably be fitting for her larger than life personality, but thankfully she’s never served a prison term (that I know of). The crazy thing is that it isn’t just her, but also the fact that incredible things just happen to her like finding Paris Hilton’s ferret while putting out a fire! Every effort to “call her out” reveals that all the crazy stories were true. The odd thing about her current American Idol situation is that I actually remember frequently asking her to shut up when we were kids because I found her singing more annoying than amazing. Obviously, some things change!
Well as Tasha’s mom I always knew she would go places, but I kind of agree with Emily on that comedian thing:) She has always been her own person and earned what she’s gotten in life! I even had one of her professors tell me that she had “earned her way! ” I think she’s amazing, beautiful, and very talented!! Tasha Layton makes me proud. I met Tasha at Converse College and I was impacted by her positive and upbeat attitude. Tasha is driven and compassionate. My whole family is pulling for you…Go Tasha Go!
Love,
Rachel
